Our Goats

Our small herd of dairy goats graze our pastures and wooded areas during the spring, summer, and fall.

What they eat and the character of the milk they produce changes with the seasons.

About Our Herd

Goat Life

At Seek-No-Further, we let our goats be goats. Our does are able to raise their kids and the whole herd grazes together all season. When the babies are old enough, we give them their own pen to sleep in and we milk the does once a day, in the morning. The kids get to nurse whenever they want for the rest of the day.

Dairy

We don’t have big cheesemaking dreams here at Seek-No-Further. We like the sweet and simple taste of fresh goat milk, the creamy tang of plain yogurt, and the smooth, grassy flavor of chèvre. Find many of these products in season at the Belfast Coop, the Marsh River Coop, the Monroe Country Store, and our on farm store.

Meat and Hides

In the fall and winter we will have goat meat and tanned goat hides available for sale in our farm store. Never tried goat meat? It’s very lean and mild, and the most popular red meat worldwide. If you are interested in a whole or half goat, please visit our online store to pre-order.

Goats for sale!

Are you looking to start or expand your goat herd? This year we have several goats available for sale, all of which would make excellent home-scale dairy goats.

2023 Doelings (female goat kids) - $100 each

2022 Yearlings - $200 each

Adults in milk - $300-400 each

We are most interested in selling pairs or family groups, but will consider all inquiries on a first come, first serve basis.

Please fill out the form to the right to inquire. In your message, please include how many goats and the ages that you are interested in. We will contact you to schedule a time for you to come to the farm to meet our goats, and might request photos and information about where you intend to keep your goats, your experience with livestock, and more. We take the well-being of our animals very seriously, and will not sell animals if we are unsure that they will be adequately housed and cared for.
