  • Our CSA program is a subscription to 20 weeks of fresh, colorful produce. From early June to mid-October, CSA members pick up their share of the harvest every Monday or Thursday at the farm in Monroe. We have a free choice CSA - this allows you to customize your share to highlight your preferences and avoid vegetables that you dislike. We ask that people take what they will eat in a week - the share is not meant for stocking up, processing, or preserving. It’s for feeding yourself and your household with all the veggies you can eat in season!

We will have 2 pick up days each week - Mondays and Thursdays from 3 to 6 PM on the farm. We require you to select either Monday or Thursday as your personal pick up day for the season and ask that you try to stick to it. If you know in advance you will not be able to make it to your pick up day that week, you may switch days. If you won’t be able make it to the pickup on EITHER day, please send someone (a friend, a neighbor, a relative, etc.) in your place. We do not pack shares for members who miss a pick up. Thanks for understanding!

  • This year, we will determine share “size” based on the number of people in your household. We have used our CSA records from years past to assess how much produce the average CSA member eats in a season. Please note - We are NOT able to SPLIT SHARES between two households. It really messes up our math.

The 2024 CSA is valued at $350 per adult, and $150 for children under 10. Based on our estimates of what an average person might take each week, members will save at least 15% compared to shopping at the farmers’ market.

Payment for a Seek-No-Further CSA share is on a sliding scale. Depending on your ability, you can pay as little as $0 or as much as you want! We encourage people who can pay more than the value of the share to do so. We also encourage those who can pay less than the value of the share to do so. The generosity of our community allows us to provide food to members at all price points.

  • Payment options include sending a check made out to Seek-No-Further Farmstead to 522 W. Main St., Monroe, ME 04951, arranging with us to drop off cash or a check at the farm, or using your EBT/SNAP benefits. Once you submit your sign up form, we will hold your spot for 2 weeks. If we do not receive payment during those two weeks, there is no guarantee that your spot is reserved. For those paying with SNAP/EBT or choosing the $0 share, we will confirm your spot by phone or email within 2 weeks.

SNAP recipients are eligible for a 50% off share! SNAP also requires monthly payments, instead of a lump sum. For example, if you would like to pay us $350 for your share, you would pay $35 per month for a total of $175, and we would receive a $175 match from the Maine Harvest Bucks program. We will contact anyone who selects the SNAP/EBT payment option to arrange payment.

How much should I pay?

Members have requested more guidance about the appropriate level of payment, so we’ve developed this handy dandy pricing chart. To use it, find the column that matches the number of people in your household, and the row that matches your total household income. You know best how much your children eat, but we recommend considering a child under 10 as half of an adult in terms of veggie consumption!

The number in the grid that matches your household size and income is our suggested price for you. This is based on livable income and household expense estimates form the State of Maine, as well as how much food we anticipate producing for a household of each size. This chart is to determine if your household is a good candidate for a reduced price share, as well as a guideline for who should consider paying above the share value to support other community members’ access to our food.

Some additional considerations: every household is different! You might opt to pay less than the recommended price if your household has higher than average costs, if someone is out of work, or if you are otherwise having a hard time making ends meet. We encourage you to pay more than the recommended price if you have a robust financial safety net, a large amount of savings or assets, or a high disposable income. Please use this guideline as a starting point, and choose the amount that fits your situation best.
